Yay. So since Friday, I’ve been at Manila for this IT contest thingie which my partner and I won 1st place (hell yah) so yeah… The contest was last Saturday, and it went on for half the day so it was kinda boring. We got three free days anyway so I can forgive Saturday morning.
This was my second time in Manila and I can totally say that I had a better time this year than my first time last year. I got to see more in this experience compared to my last visit to the capital of the Philippines.
My flight was actually earlier than the rest of my teammates so I arrived at Manila like four hours before they did so I got to circle the Ninoy Aquino International Airport which was really overwhelming since I never knew there was a mall in it. I didn’t get to look around the airport last year… So it was nice getting to know NAIA.
So, when I met up with my teammates and teachers, we went to the Ateneo de Manila University where we unpacked our stuff and get ready to go for an awesome night out.
We went to this giant mall called Trinoma and there Zsa Zsa Padilla was there and she sang some Jessie J song and I was starstruck idk why but I guess it’s because she’s the first famous person I’ve seen perform in front of me like a;lsdkjf;lskdf. So yeah… -.-“
We had dinner at Burger King then split into two groups cuz there were two teachers. The group of my guy teacher went to other food shops and the group of my lady teacher, where I was in, went to different clothe shops. Prices where stupid, I mean, a polo-shirt for a thousand Pesos…? It’s just a label that makes it seem special pssh.
After Trinoma, we went back to the AdMU (I think… 0.o) and then rested, well, some of us… (t’was only I who rested T_T) I instantly fell asleep ‘cuz I was really sick and It fucking sucked, I mean like, damn body, not now… It’s Man-fucking-ila don’t get sick now… T_T something like that. I didn’t get to go and have coffee with the others so… Tough luck.
On the next day, contest day, we woke up early in the morning to prepare for travel. From the AdMU, we went to Bayview Park Hotel, the venue of our contest. Like I said earlier, it took the whole day for the contest to happen. From registration, opening ceremony, first batch, second batch, lunch (super bland shit-like chicken dish), to the awarding, it was quite tiring… Doesn’t matter though, my partner and I won :3… Not everyone on our team won first place though so It was kind of disappointing… But whatever, we celebrated.
We planned to go to Star City, a theme park, but we took a stop at the SM Mall of Asia and it was a fucking whale. We just went there to have dinner at Sbarro and I felt proud to actually finish one slice, like, I praised the heavens if I remember correctly. Plus, there were fireworks in celebration of the Chinese New Year. Another thing was Katy Perry. She was blasting from every speaker of the whale mall. It was like the whole whale mall was promoting her or something. She was going to have her tour thing I guess idk. I’m no fan of hers, sorry… :/
After dinner, we then reached to Star City. It was my first time to go there and I played laser tag. It was legen… -wait for it- …DARY! LEGENDARY! Yes, it was legendary but I only got to play twice and the guy from my team which I played with isn’t really the person I’d wanna be with that time so I got really pissed after the games… I placed 19th and 16th by the way wee~ I guess that’s good for me considering I don’t really like shooting games… -.-“
So then we went back to the dorms and I rested early again. I was still sick and my other teammates went to Starbucks again so fuck my weak immune system.
Yesterday, Sunday, we went to Green Hills. It was my second time there. I got to visit it the first time I went to Manila but this time, I got to see more. I didn’t really like it much there though. I only liked it ‘cuz there were trash bins everywhere so I got to throw my wet tissue paper at every turn :3.
I got to see a music store there and the Born This Way Collection was there but I was P500 short so fuck the fact that I gots no cash…
After Green Hills, we went back to the dorms to drop whatever my other teammates bought and prepare for our next destination.
My group, the one with my lady teacher, went to Market Market. I stole a tube of tissue paper from a bathroom cubicle… (I needed it, shut up) I really liked the place ‘cuz we walked around before having dinner. There were dogs everywhere. It was amazing. There were like three sheepdogs and they were so big and fffffffuuuuuuuuu they were just too cute… >.< I can’t…
We had dinner at Max’s and it was okay… I gues… I couldn’t taste anything ‘cuz of my cold so… ffffffuuuuuuuu!! Plus I really felt annoyed that the Phillippines’ economy is as it is at the moment (omg I just consecutively used five two letter words in the same sentence 0.o)… On there wall was the original menu of the restaurant at some time where my grandfather wasn’t even a figment of my great grandfather’s imagination. Five Pesos for a whole chicken order T_T I want that time to come back… I’d be so fucking rich.
There also was a five-floor Fully Booked bookstore so I felt at home. I didn’t get to stay long though but I got to get rocks for people who asked for rocks from Manila. They’re awesome for asking me to bring them rocks.
The van arrived to pick us up and it was almost the end of our last night in Manila… I, once again, slept before the others so I was the Blitz… They talked about stuff and I missed everything… Fuck it. I can’t do anything about that now. (except sit in a corner and cry my heart out…)
So today, Monday, I was prepared to go home. I got to see an old teacher of mine who’s a Jesuit and got to see the place he stays at with other holy dudes and I felt uncomfortable… Then, he dropped me off at the place where I was supposed to meet up with my uncle.
My uncle and I had lunch at this place called Sweet Inspirations and it was worth the money. We each had pasta + dessert for less than P150 each. It was a buffet place but I wasn’t that hungry so whatever.
We talked about college and stuff like that and I felt like an adult. It was awesome and simultaneously awesome-er.
We finished our lunch and then we took a taxi cab and got off at the NAIA. There I waited for what seemed like a bajillion years just to get aboard my flight. It was kind of awkward ‘cuz some of my popular schoolmates had the same schedule as mine so shit…
I finally got on the plane and I was leaving Manila… I got the window seat (fuckyeah.) The clouds where sublime. The sunset painted the sky with citrus-flavored cotton candy. It was delectable.
My flight could have been less awkward if my popular schoolmates weren’t sitting in front of me.
The plane landed and I was finally home.
I found my mom waiting for me. We took a taxi cab and rode to our house. I saw our dog again. I’m back on the internet. I realized I have a ton of catching up to do.
I’m home.
